The Memories Box (R. Marone)

Dopo aver preparato il fondo della scatola con 2 – 3 mani di fondo gesso, stendete 3 mani di colore giallo.

Prepare the box with 2 – 3 coats of gesso. Then apply 2 or 3 coats of acrylic colour yellow.

Realizzate un fondo frottage. Sul colore giallo applicate una mano di colore lavanda, e prima che il colore asciughi rimuovetelo in parte con una busta di plastica appallottolata.

To realize the Frottage background on the yellow colour apply one coat of  lavender, then, before it dries, remove part of the colour using a plastic bag rolled into a ball. 

Lasciate asciugare, quindi con il colore acrilico oro ripetete il procedimento.

When dry repeat the same process using the acrylic colour gold. 

Realizzate l’effetto marezzato applicando solo in alcuni punti della scatola la colla missione e la foglia oro, e isolando con la gommalacca.

To realize the gold interference effect, apply gold foil only in a few points of the box. Isolate with French polish. 

Ritagliate le immagini scelte per la decorazione, e bruciacchiate i bordi delle fotografie con la fiamma di una candela.

Cut prints and burn gently the “old” pictures borders with a candle flame. 

Realizzate con le immagini una composizione armoniosa sia sul coperchio che sulla scatola.

Realize a harmonious composition of prints both on the top and on the base of the box. 

Proteggete l’oggetto con numerose mani di vernice all’acqua.

Protect the box applying several coats of water base varnish.
